This beginner-level course fulfills the training requirement to apply for either a License to Carry (LTC) or a Firearms Identification (FID) card in Massachusetts. The program includes 4–5 hours of classroom instruction, covering:

• Gun owner responsibilities

• Safe firearm handling rules and range etiquette

• Introduction to firearms handling

• Ammunition and components familiarization

• Massachusetts firearms laws

• Application completion guidance and what to expect during the interview process

Following the classroom session, there will be a brief lunch break before the live-fire training portion. During live fire, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of marksmanship. Each participant will have the opportunity to shoot and, upon successful completion, will receive a Certificate of Completion.

Instruction is provided by a certified firearms instructor who is also a full-time police officer.
