Field Access & Scheduling
- Before opening the Skeet Field, a sign must be placed on Trap Field One indicating it is closed.
- The Skeet Field will be closed during organized ATA shoots.
- Shooting is not permitted past sunset, as published by Weather.com.
General Responsibility & Firearm Safety
- Each shooter is required to know and comply with all range safety rules. If in doubt, ask the Range Officer.
- As a firearm owner and user, you are responsible for your actions.
- Treat all firearms as if they are loaded.
- Always keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction and downrange.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
- Never move from a station with a loaded firearm.
Firearm Condition & Handling
- All firearms must have the action open and contain no live or spent shells, except when the shooter is on the firing line.
- Break-open firearms may be closed while in a gun rack, but must not contain a live or spent shell.
- No shells may be loaded unless the shooter is at a designated shooting station.
- No more than two shells may be loaded in a firearm at any time.
- After any abnormal discharge, the barrel must be checked with a ramrod before continuing.
Cease Fire Procedures
- When a cease fire is called, all firearms must be immediately unloaded and actions opened.
Ammunition Restrictions
- No shot size larger than #7½ is permitted.
- Game loads are not allowed.
- Maximum allowable loads are:

- 1290 FPS with a maximum shot charge of 1⅛ oz
- 1325 FPS with a maximum shot charge of 1 oz
- 1350 FPS with a maximum shot charge of ⅞ oz
- These limits are maximums and may not be exceeded.
- Shot charges may not exceed the stated maximum by more than 3%.
Range Access & Supervision
- Only individuals who are actively shooting, along with one scorer, are permitted on the skeet field.
- Only authorized personnel may load the skeet houses.
- Guests may only use the range when accompanied by a Charter or Associate Member.
- Only one guest may shoot at a time, under direct visual supervision of the sponsoring member.

- The supervising member may not shoot while supervising.
- No one under the age of 18 may shoot on the skeet field without direct supervision by a Member.
New Shooters & Competency
- No individual may discharge a firearm they are not knowledgeable about or capable of operating.

- Instruction and assistance are permitted.
- The Range Officer has full discretion regarding shooter competency.
- First-time skeet shooters must shoot their initial round with experienced shooters or under the supervision of an experienced individual approved by the Range Officer.
Protective Equipment & Conduct
- Eye and hearing protection are required for all shooters and personnel on the skeet field.
- Be courteous and respectful to fellow shooters, scorers, and helpers.
- Pick up only your own empty shells, and only after your squad has completed shooting.
Malfunctions & Duds
- All duds and misfired shells must be removed from club grounds by the owner or placed in the designated Dud Container.
- Do not leave misfired shells on the ground or dispose of them in the trash.
- Always keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction and clear malfunctions safely.
Alcohol, Drugs & Legal Compliance
- Alcohol or drug use is strictly prohibited before or during shooting.

- No one may operate a firearm after consuming alcohol or drugs.
- All federal and state firearm laws must be obeyed at all times.
Enforcement
- Failure to comply with these rules may result in immediate removal from the range and may lead to suspension or termination of membership.
