Holbrook Sportsmen's Club

Precision Pistol Team

The Pistol Team meets every Tuesday for practice and every Thursday for competition. Each session follows the NRA National Gallery Course, a classic and widely recognized bullseye pistol course of fire.

Course of Fire

      • Slow Fire:
        • 10 shots in 10 minutes
      • Timed Fire:
        • 5 shots in 20 seconds, fired twice
      • Rapid Fire:
        • 5 shots in 10 seconds, fired twice

Equipment & Eligibility

  • Any .22 caliber pistol is permitted.
  • Shooters typically meet around 7:00 PM, with firing beginning at 8:00 PM.

League Competition

On Thursday nights, the team competes in the South Shore Rifle and Pistol League. For team scoring, only the top five individual scores count toward the team total, so new shooters are encouraged to participate without concern about negatively impacting team results. The emphasis is on learning, participation, and continuous improvement.

New Shooter Friendly

The Pistol Team is very welcoming to shooters who are new to competitive pistol shooting. Team members are happy to provide guidance, coaching, and support to help you get started and build confidence in a competitive setting.

Anyone interested in trying it out is encouraged to bring a .22 caliber pistol and .22 standard-velocity ammunition on Tuesday or Thursday evenings and speak with a Pistol Team member.  If you do not own a .22 pistol, don't worry, someone will allow you to try one of theirs.

Upcoming Season Information
