All outdoor firearms ranges are closed on Easter Sunday.
All ranges are closed on Saturday until 12:30 PM for work parties.
THE FOUR UNIVERSAL FIREARM SAFETY RULES
- Treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
- Never allow the muzzle to point at anything you are not willing to destroy.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you are ready to fire.
- Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.
FIRING LINE SAFETY
- Firearms must remain unloaded until on the firing line and ready to shoot.
- Actions must remain open and magazines removed until the shooter is ready to fire.
- Before handling any firearm, ensure the range is safe and that no one is downrange.
- Always keep firearms pointed downrange.
- Eye and ear protection are required for all persons on the range.
- Fully automatic fire, burst fire, bump firing, and uncontrolled rapid fire are prohibited.
CEASE FIRE PROCEDURES
Any member may call a CEASE FIRE.
When a cease fire is called:
- Immediately stop shooting.
- Unload all firearms and open the action.
- Step back from the firing line.
- Do not handle firearms, magazines, or equipment during a cease fire.
- Do not move forward of the firing line until the line is declared safe.
All shooting must be conducted from the designated firing line unless otherwise authorized.
SUPERVISION & GUESTS
- The Range Master and designated assistants have full authority on the range.
- In their absence, members present share responsibility for safe range operation.
- Junior members must be directly supervised by a Charter or Associate Member.
- Guests must be accompanied by a Charter or Associate Member.
- Only one guest may shoot at a time under the direct supervision of the sponsoring member.
- The sponsoring member may not shoot while supervising their guest.
CONDUCT & COMPLIANCE
- Remove and properly dispose of all targets, target stands, and trash after shooting. Clean up all spent shell casings.
- Return all target stands to the designated storage area. Do not leave stands on the range.
- Alcohol or drugs are strictly prohibited before or during shooting.
- All federal and Massachusetts firearm laws must be followed.
- All ranges are under active video surveillance.
- Rule violations may result in removal from the range and disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of membership.
SAFETY IS EVERY MEMBER’S RESPONSIBILITY
